TRAUMA IN CHILDREN IN CONNECTION WITH CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS
- 1 Katedra psychologie, Filozofická fakulta, Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci
Knowledge regarding the impact of traumatic events on children has undergone dynamic development in the last decade. The new diagnostic manuals DSM-5 and ICD-11 bring a new perspective on the diagnostic classification and open up space to better identify and treat manifestations of the consequences of trauma in children by research findings. These manifestations are very broad and interchangeable with other diagnostic categories. Violence in close relationships then brings numerous specifics of the entire context of dynamics and impacts. Socially pathological phenomena observable in children’s behaviour must be identified and addressed through this lens.
Keywords: trauma, children, PTSD, violence in close relationships, social pathology
