SOME ASPECTS OF CONTEMPORARY FAMILY TRENDS IN THE CONTEXT OF WEAKENING INTERGENERATIONAL TRANSMISSION

The article deals with the trends of the contemporary family, changes in its structure in comparison  with  the  traditionally  understood  multigenerational family about the weakening of the position of grandparents and thus weakening their influence on the upbringing of
grandchildren in contemporary society. The theoretical analysis is supplemented by data from A. Št‘astná presented in the pilot study of the Contemporary Czech Family project and from P. Vlachová‘s research Senior in the Czech Family focused on the position of grandparents in the
family, their influence and the essential elements of the transgenerational transmission. The aim of this article is to clarify and present  the essence of intergenerational learning and its importance in the family environment, and consequently to highlight the importance of developing
intergenerational activities in the contemporary family between grandparents and grandchildren as an important means and tool for their social learning.
